I think it was an old Tony Robbins book where he pointed out that good judgment is often a result of experience, that we learn the most from our mistakes, and that therefore the ability to make good decisions is often a function of having made lots of bad decisions in the past! Framework Code and Versioning: Directory Structure

When you start thinking about writing reusable/framework code, you've got to consider versioning. If you are using a community framework with a relatively leisurely (6-18 month) release cycle and a serious focus on backwards compatibility, if you're only using the framework for a small number of applications, versioning isn't much of a concern. If, however you're developing an in-house framework and plan on frequent updates to the framework or using it for a large number of projects, versioning becomes a much bigger concern . . .
