Designing Layouts for Content Management Systems - An Introduction

The key issue to bear in mind when designing the graphical layout of a site that will be using a content management system is to "design for uncertainty", because you don't really know what the site administrators will be putting into your layouts.

This is a non-technical introduction designed to highlight some key issues to consider, but each of these areas could be its own essay, so this isn’t the final word on any of the topics – just an overview of the most important points.
