Article comparing Grails and Rails published in groovymag

My latest article - this time comparing Grails and Rails - has been published in Groovy Mag. It provides an overview of the Groovy/Grails and Ruby/Rails stacks and looks at some of the reasons you might choose one over another.

@Peter

I really enjoyed your article, though Rails & Grails comparison is hard. Also You did not mentiond about preformance of Grails, which is far better than Rails.

@Sana, Thanks!

I decided not to talk about performance, because it really depends. The JRuby guys have been working really hard on performance, then there are the Ruby app servers that are also being tuned carefully, and Groovy/Grails have had their own issues with performance over time.

Truth be told, if you need a crazy performant solution, you're probably gonna want to just code it in java (if you're deploying on a jvm) - the dynamic languages still add a real runtime overhead. But for the vast majority of projects, Grails and Rails should both be "fast enough"
