jQuery is a great Javascript framework that we are integrating into our application generator. As such, we are proud to be the first sponsor of jQueryCamp07.
Hi Ray, Unfortunately I'm leaving New York on September 19th and won't be back until January. Let me know what conferences you're going to and I'm sure we'll meet up at one of them! Definitely having fun with jQuery. Just finishing up the book tonight, and doing some reading on CSS so I get the right balance between things I can do purely in CSS and elegant ways to enhance them using jQuery.
I saw this yesterday and I should had posted earlier. I knew you were looking at but the next thing I see you are their first sponsor! Talk about jQuery love. You are definitely on the right track Peter. I'm just hoping some of my work is giving you ideas and the book I gave you as well. It's shame you leave on the 19th. I should be in NYC the day after to start looking for an apartment. Great to see you enjoying jQuery. Let us know what you are creating with it.
I'm working up a spec for a set of components for handling forms, data grids, flexible lists, navigation, all the standard pieces. Where I can I'll use pure CSS. Where that doesn't work I'll either pick or write plug ins for jQuery to solve the problems base don an architecture that'll gracefully degrade.
Nothing radical, but I just want t get all the details just so - mostly using other peoples plug ins, but writing mine where necessary.
I want to create clean DSLs for specifying things like navigation, grids, lists, etc. making it easy to swap out different positional and effect functions without touching the HTML so I can quickly create sites that use best practices while still providing powerful skinning features.
From there, a web based interface to allow a non-technical user to configure and skin a site with all of the cool components already built in and tested together!
