Less is more: the rise of dynamic languages

E-week has a good article about a trend towards simplification in web application development. Just a shame it is DHH getting the spotlight - this is a story Adobe should be shouting from the rooftops about ColdFusion!

More thoughts on their prognostications later (I disagree about how they see some of this playing out), just wanted to get the link out there!

Macromedia and now Adobe do a poor job of promoting Coldfusion IMHO. Every time I see a columnist in a industry magazine refer to Coldfusion theyre talking about version 4.5 and have no idea its still in use or how far it's come, because nothing is done to educate them until their article is published, if then. When was the last time you saw an ad for Coldfusion in a trade magazine? I see plenty of ads for .NET. Adobe really needs to get the word out.

Hi Jim,

Agreed! BTW, it was great to meet you at CF United. How are all of the various project coming along?

I think we all have a chance to support and promote CF and it is in our interest to do so. I have certainly gone from apologizing about ColdFusion to quite vigorously supporting it against the other options that are available. And the potential of Flex (and possibly Spry and eventually maybe Apollo) is just icing on the cake!

Best Wishes,
Peter

Cold Fusion does what thes epeople in the article talk about. I understand the popularity of Ruby on Rails... CF MX 7 already beats it...

Adobe lets us down by not pushing it.
